Thank you for visiting ALTENPFLEGE 2026, the meeting place where the future of care takes shape.

Three intensive days, key questions for the future and a high level of professional exchange: From 21 to 23 April 2026, the leading trade fair in Essen, under the patronage of Federal Health Minister Nina Warken, brought together 18,000 trade visitors and 500 exhibitors from 16 countries across more than 14,500 square metres of exhibition space – with a clear focus on guidance, practical relevance and sustainability.

The next edition of the leading trade fair will take place from 20 to 22 April 2027 in Nuremberg under a new name: care:xpo.

care:xpo brings together long-term care with all other care settings – outpatient, inpatient, home-based, rehabilitation, post-acute and specialist care. This is where innovation, practice and policy converge across the entire nursing journey.

Innovations and inspiration for tomorrow's care

The trade fair covers all topics related to generalist care and provides inspiration for new forms of living as well as for the use of robotics and digitalization in inpatient and outpatient care. Around 50 start-ups and young companies will present their groundbreaking solutions in the Special Show AVENEO – from smart technology and digital tools to new concepts for improving quality of life and reducing the burden of everyday care. The best ideas from the Newcomer Challenge will be presented live at the trade fair. Visitors can also look forward to the “Robotics & AI” joint exhibition area in cooperation with VDMA HealthTech. It will present the latest developments and practical applications in the field of intelligent technologies.
