What does a good life in old age really look like?
In our special exhibition area, you can discover the five winning projects of the Care-for-a-better-life Award – an initiative of the care:xpo trade fair and the Edgar and Nina Kummerfeldt Foundation.
The award-winning projects showcase bold, surprising and touching approaches to elderly care and work with older people. They tell stories of community, dignity, new forms of living and creative ways to combat loneliness – and of how old age can also be an opportunity for our society.
On 22 April, the people behind the projects will be present in person at their display boards. Come and have a chat, ask questions and be inspired by their ideas. The official awards ceremony will take place on 22 April at 3.20 pm in the Arena.
Discover projects that show: care can be more – and old age a new beginning.

The best submissions, selected by a high-calibre jury, will win the Care4-a-better-Life² Award - an exclusive photo shoot with photographer René Schwerdtel. Your initiative will be presented at the ALTENPFLEGE 2026 in Essen - the perfect stage for your vision!
Our message:
‘Good care exists! It deserves recognition and attention.’ Let's show together what care can achieve.
