Following the strategic repositioning of the renowned ALTENPFLEGE exhibition as care:xpo, the event is consistently evolving into a platform for the entire Nursing Journey and all stakeholders involved in care. The next edition will take place from 20 to 22 April 2027 at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. The sector should already mark this date in its calendar.
The transformation into care:xpo laid the foundation for a modern, cross-sector platform that connects long-term care with adjacent care settings, emerging technologies, science, politics and education. The focus is on exchange, innovation and solutions to the challenges facing sustainable, future-oriented care. This ongoing development follows the ambition of viewing care holistically while highlighting synergies along the entire continuum of care. The strategic repositioning from ALTENPFLEGE to care:xpo was officially presented in 2026, placing the Nursing Journey at the heart of the concept and positioning the event as a platform for the entire world of care.
Strong Partnerships for the Future of Care
care:xpo is built on collaboration with leading institutions and organisations from the fields of care, science and industry. Dr Tom Zentek, Managing Director of the Kompetenzcluster innovative Pflege (KiPf), emphasises the importance of innovation and networking for the future of care: "As the central point of contact for innovative care, care technologies and digitalisation, connecting the various stakeholders in care is at the core of our work within the Kompetenzcluster innovative Pflege (KiPf), a key element of Bavaria’s HighCare Agenda. Industry also regards the further development of care:xpo as an important step for the sector. In terms of content, long-term care remains firmly at its core. Organised by the editorial teams of Vincentz Network, the congress will take place from 20 to 21 April 2027 at NCC Ost, NürnbergMesse.
Under the care:xpo umbrella, the congress will continue to deliver in-depth expertise with a strong focus on knowledge transfer, guidance and professional exchange. At its heart are practical relevance and actionable strategies for addressing the challenges of long-term care. Leaders and decision-makers will gain valuable insights that can be directly applied to their daily work and to the further development of their facilities and services. The new brand environment makes the congress's importance for long-term care even more visible.
